In 2017, there was very little country music along the lakeshore of West Michigan. Of the few country music bands that were performing, they played old country music standards - or a mix of country and classic rock. Country radio had changed over the past 10-15 years, but area country music acts had not.  With this in mind, four musicians set out to put a band together featuring the music of today’s country radio stars. Only 1 member had ever played country music on-stage before, but as seasoned musicians, they put-in the time required to learn the current country sound.  They didn’t just want to do “versions” of well know songs – they were committed to staying true to the recording artist’s original sound.  Country Current was born.  Having added a 5th band member in 2019, they are now packing venues throughout West Michigan as one of the best “new country” cover bands available this side of Nashville’s legendary honky tonks.
